Theatre designer: scenographer and costume designer
Structure

First year: foundation phase
The first year of the programme focuses on developing your expressive and theoretical abilities. You are also given information about the available follow-up programmes. In addition to two-dimensional (flat), three-dimensional (space), and four-dimensional (space plus time) design, the foundation phase comprises a programme in art theory (art criticism, and cultural criticism). There will be a study trip, excursions and (international) guest lecturers to keep you up to date with current developments in the field of visual arts and design.

Second and third year: developing you
In the second and third year of the programme you will develop a solid basis in both theory and practice. The emphasis will increasingly be put on actual design and your own creativity.

Fourth year: graduating
In the fourth year of the programme actual designing is the number one priority. Another essential component is preparing you to enter the professional field through: (international) work placements and internships. Students in both programmes receive lessons in CIT (computer integrated technology) and computer applications. Costume design students continue with their anatomy lessons and life drawings.
