Work placements

The first year is dedicated to laying a solid foundation of theatre techniques and teaching skills. You will have acting, voice and movement lessons, and learn how to structure lessons.

In year two, the main phase, you will build on this foundation and put it into practice in various short lesson blocks and practicals. You will also do a teaching practice placement.

You will complete your studies in year three, the final phase. In addition to the set lesson programme, ample time and attention will be paid to your final directing project. You will write an essay and make theatre based on artistic research.

The work placements in year two and three take place in your own living or working environment and take up 1 or 2 half-days per week. Toneelacademie teaching staff will be there to supervise you.

The program curriculum consists of a fixed program, masterclasses, practical assignments and work placements.

Individual attention
Toneelacademie Maastricht is a close-knit community of thinkers, daredevils and go-getters. In this program, we work in small groups of up to 12 students per year. That means you will get plenty of individual attention. Our select team of permanent teaching staff supplemented with guest lecturers has close ties with the industry, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
