My dear ladies and gentleman of the audience,

With great honour, I present to you: the extinction of species. We did our very best to find, cultivate, search and research every single one of them for you, our audience. And for a small price of only ten euro’s, we have put on a show, on your behalf, for your fancy, of all endlings found. As visitors of the performance, you may find yourself walking with us across the ruins of extinct species, you may momentarily be overwhelmed with excitement and find yourself grabbing the hand of your neighbour, you may find yourself regretting you ever entered the theatre… Whatever happens, together we are the witnesses of the last scenes described by the last living of their species.

Over Het Uisterven Van Soorten – deel #1 is het eerste deel van een drieluik over het uitsterven van soorten. Elk deel gaat over een ander aantal soorten en een ander familielid van Jip Vuik. Het eerste deel is o.a. gebaseerd op het leven van de variete-artiest (en overgrootvader van de regisseur) Charles ‘Charlie op de Bal’ Matla, het boek The Sixt Extinction van Elizabeth Colbert en op wikipedia.

Het Festival INdeMAAK, op 4, 5 en 6 juni 2015 is het afstudeerfestival van de regie-opleiding van de Toneelacademie Maastricht
